Eagle's Cry

Parker Roy, Reporter

Parker Roy is a 16-year-old junior. She was born May 29, 1999 in Fairbanks, Alaska. She is the oldest child of four in her family and has a younger brother who is a freshman at West this year.

She enjoys playing soccer and volleyball. She has played soccer for 13 years and has played volleyball for 4 years. She played competitive soccer for nine years with the Alaska Rush 99 girls team.

Roy’s favorite high school experience has been being a part of the West high soccer program and having team bonding parties with the JV girls team. As a sophomore she was team captain of the JV team and hopes to continue playing soccer for West this year.

Along with sports she also spends time baking and has made a small business making cakes and cupcakes. She hopes to go to college for culinary arts or get her business degree and one day open a bakery of her own. She started baking in eighth grade after a project for her english class, where she got to choose her own topic and chose cake design.

This summer Roy travelled to Ontario, Canada for a family reunion and spent a week at her family’s farm. Canada is one of her favorite places to visit and she hopes to go back soon.
