Naijah Jones, Reporter
Naijah Jones, 17, is a senior at West Anchorage High School. She was born in Anchorage, but was raised in the bay area of California. In eighth grade, she moved back up to Alaska and has been living here ever since.
Jones enjoys sports, such as cheerleading, volleyball and track. When she’s not playing sports, she enjoys spending time hanging out with her friends and family. If she had to pick one word to describe herself, she said she would pick “funny”.
In August 2016, she started her job as a hostess at Smashburger, where she still continues to work. She seems to enjoy journalism, and says her favorite part of the class is getting to interview people.
If Jones won a million dollars, she said that after spending at least half of it on food, she would buy her mom a house.
After high school, Jones hopes to move back to the Golden State of California because she grew up there and really enjoys the area. She doesn’t quite know what part of the state she wants to live in yet, but when asked what she wants to do there she says, “Maybe go to school, be a vet tech or doing auditions for movies and stuff.”
