Carl Doehl, Reporter

My name is Carl Doehl, I’m 16 years old and a Junior at West High School. I was born in Daegu, South Korea and was brought to Seoul, South Korea. I was adopted when I was six months old and moved to Anchorage, AK where I have spent most of my life. Some of my hobbies are soccer and drawing. Soccer is a hobby of mine, so I can stay active. Drawing is a hobby of mine, so I can create pictures and designs for fun.

Some of my career goals are engineering, and designing. Engineering is a career goal of mine because I used to do small types of engineering stuff. Designing is a career goal of mine because I’ve been interested in designing different things. Some of my interests are programing and journalism. Programing is really interesting to me because I used to program lots of things when I was younger. Journalism is an interest to me because it helps people know what’s happening around the world. The type of journalism I’m in to is sports journalism.

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn” Benjamin Franklin. During school it’s better being taught and involved is better than being told so you actually learn and understand what is being taught better.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work” Thomas A. Edison.  It’s better thinking you’ve got the wrong answer multiple times than thinking you’ve failed.
