Zion Mendoza is a junior at west high school and spends his time doing athletic activities such as football, baseball, and lifting. Mendoza is a quarterback for the varsity football team and plays outfield and pitcher for the West baseball team as well. His hobbies consist of movie dates and and going out to eat.

Some of Mendoza's favorite classes are media productions with the Anchorage Media Productions program and Cross training. Mendoza's goals in life are you receive a scholarship for either of his favorite sports and get his school paid for and study sports medicine. Another goal of his is to be unnecessarily rich and cure cancer. Mendoza likes journalism because he feels it gives people a voice who usually wouldn't and he says, “you can catch flies with honey but you can catch more honeys being fly.”
